Hi Tom - the OpenCandy user example is a single slide, using 4 vertical slides within the 1st.
So you could create your slidedeck with only 1 slide and then add your vertical slides as the content of slide 1.
If you view the source code of the OpenCandy slidedeck you will see how they implemented it.

Hi Kevin,
Vertical orientation instead of Horizontal orientation is not currently available, it is a point of discussion but we have not decided one way or the other as of yet.
However, we did just recently update SlideDeck Pro with the addition of Vertical Slides like what is found on slide 2 of our Wordpress page: http://www.slidedeck.com/wordpress
This feature might help you with what you want to achieve.

Mike Jordan August 05, 2011 04:26Having a single horizontal slide, with multiple sub-slides provides the correct vertical scroll functionality- unfortunately, it doesn't look like there is a way to add titles to each sub-slide. What's up with that?..EditDeleteRemove

Sebastiaan Visser August 26, 2011 10:33just create a div at the end of each of the vertical slides with pretty GoTo links and titles... its a workaround solution and not easypeasy like a normal slidedeck, but it is possible.EditDeleteRemove

Please do add it as a feature. I bought PRO thinking that vertical slides would be an option for the main slides, just as your opencandy example shows.
-
I've also bought PRO for the vertical slides and started designing my custom slide untill i found it this is not possible?

Hi Tom,
I have the same question. I bought the Pro version for the Vertical slides, but I am right that I now have to program this to get the real Vertcal slides?
And where would I see the source-code for this?
BTW: I am unhappily surprised. It was better if you indicated on the home-page: "You can get the vertical-slide if you like to program".
Kind regards,
Roel -

i'm pissed as well. I just spent 100 bucks to have this OpenCandy version and I could have just used the free version considering I'd have to program the damn thing regardless. This is false advertisement.

Just the same for me. I buy a lot of software (and other goods) on the internet. And I have never felt worse than now. I feel betrayed. The screenshots of the vertical slider are TOTALLY different then what you get. The vertical slider in Wordpress just looks weird, it is more or less unusable.

Just the same for me. I am not satisfied with your product.
I tried to change the setting of a slide to make it vertical ... and there are almost succeeded ...
1. I modified the file skin.css (MY SKIN.css )
2. I created a slide using the plugin
3. I converted the slides in vertical slides
4. click on "Hide Slide Title Bars"
... Now, how do I change the name of the slides that are created automatically? Nav1 Nav2 Nav3 ....
You can see my example here:
MY TEST
... I paid 99 bucks to save time ... not to work harder. I'm very disappointed.
But I hope you can help me to complete the work started.
Regards. -

I also bought the pro multi-site version because I wanted to be able to create vertical slides. PLEASE provide more information about how to achieve this, because I just spent $300 on your product and I did not get what i thought I was paying for.

I'm not sure I understand Jacqueline. Could you please provide us with some more details such as your site URL, whether you are planning on using the WordPress plugin or jQuery and please start a new thread as we will be able to better manage your issue in a new thread.

Yeah, having the "open candy" style vertical would be amazing to have. I am a graphic designer and front end designer (with a little knowledge on js to get me through projects), so programming slide deck to achieve this is way over my head. Don't get me wrong, I love slidedeck and the wordpress plugin, but I could see where jacqueline might be confused.
When I first came to slidedeck (long time ago), I immediately went to the examples page and saw all the cool ways you had implemented it. Then I downloaded/purchased slidedeck, and then figured out that I would have to delve into a lot of js if I wanted my slidedeck to behave as some of your examples do.
I think Jacqueline and many others see the examples and figure that slidedeck has that functionality right out of the box. -

Same here, buyed for 300 dollars because of the samples and then to found out that the themes are not working in default.

Really pisses me off. Your site MORE than implies that you can build (easily!) vertical slide shows and then you show examples like CrazyEgg. Dudes, don't misrepresent your product. It doesn't do this. It doesn't provide ANYTHING you need to do this. And your suggestion?! Go find someone else's code (now that you paid for our worthless code) and copy theirs. Wasn't the whole idea that we would NOT have to do that?!!
-
Pricing page is misleading! And I can go even further and call it lying as there is clearly a wordpress icon next to a "vertical slides" feature.

"Upgrade to PRO to receive PRIORITY support" "Get faster support by working directly with our development team."
Seems the requirements are a little stiffer than that. Haven't figured out what they are yet to get that. -

anyone willing to share his/her vertical slide skin?
Im very dissapointed that I bought a $100 non-working vertical side... -

i got the vertical slide to work to a point on WP. i add my content, title, images etc into the post. i then add another. hit update, no sweat. it looks awesome. add another. it deletes everything that i had previously added in there with not a trace of any of my content. i want the vertical slider to work to conserve real estate on my site but it's looking to be problematic. the regular slider is bananas and has wowed many clients thus far.
StyleSegment.com is where I currently have one installed-
I have exactly the same problem.

Same issue as everyone else here. On another support stream found reference to this page:
http://www.slidedeck.com/blog/slidede...
on which there's a replica of the OpenCandy slide deck with download files. HOWEVER, no detailed instruction on HOW to get this to work!!!!
You have to make a special template page, insert coding into the Header (unclear on what - CSS and JS references? Entire code or are we supposed to be creating a special CSS?. I added the JS references, but then ended up with double the JS code in my published page.
Easy to use and implement directions are invaluable!!! -
